The DNS-8 serial communication server provides TCP SERVER, TCP CLIENT, and UDP services, all of which utilize standardized network APIs (Winsock, BSD Sockets) to ensure compatibility across network applications.
Provides the FIXED_TTY driver for UNIX systems.
DNS-8 comes with a fixed TTY driver for UNIX, which differs from the traditional approach of maintaining a persistent TCP SERVER connection to the UNIX system.
It connects to the UNIX system only when a task is required, significantly conserving network resources. Additionally, users can freely customize TTY names according to application needs, and the multi‑screen switching feature is well suited for bank‑connected terminal applications.
Currently, FIXED_TTY supports the following operating systems: SCO UNIX and Red Hat Linux. It also provides a COM‑port driver for Windows.
Because the DNS-16 comes with a Windows COM‑port driver, users can easily access serial data on the DNS-8 by opening the COM port on their PC.
