Recently, the Tianma Radio Telescope issued a request for a network time server. Beijing Zhongxin Chuang Co., Ltd. promptly collaborated to develop a detailed proposal and recommended its independently developed and manufactured DNTS‑8 model as the bid‑winning product. Following a fiercely competitive bidding process, Zhongxin Chuang stood out thanks to its high‑quality products and comprehensive after‑sales service, ultimately securing the contract for the Tianma Radio Telescope’s time‑server project.
The Tianma Radio Telescope has successfully conducted radio astronomical observations of spectral lines, pulsars, and VLBI. It has detected emissions from numerous important molecules, including the long carbon-chain molecule HC7N, as well as several new hydroxyl maser sources, and has identified a number of pulsars, including the shortest-period millisecond pulsar in the northern sky, thereby opening its facilities to the international scientific community.
The Tianma Telescope conducted an in-depth evaluation of the DNTS‑8 series time server, independently developed by Zhongxin Chuang, and the results consistently exceeded the specified performance parameters. The team was highly satisfied with both our product quality and after-sales service, leading to a smooth procurement and successful deployment.
The DNTS-8 time server, developed by Beijing Zhongxinchuang Technology Co., Ltd., is a high-tech, intelligent, stand-alone clock synchronization server that operates based on the NTP/SNTP protocols and delivers high-precision time signals. The DNTS-8 time server obtains standard clock signal information from GPS satellites and transmits this information across the network, enabling devices requiring time synchronization—such as computers and controllers—to align with the standard clock. When all receivers lose signal, the DNTS-8 relies on its built-in temperature-compensated crystal oscillator for holdover, achieving a holdover accuracy of up to 1E-9. The DNTS-8 disseminates standard clock information via TCP/IP networks and supports multiple popular time‑broadcasting protocols, including NTP and time/UDP; it also accommodates custom‑defined time‑broadcast packets with configurable UDP ports. The port numbers for NTP and time/UDP are fixed at 123 and 37, respectively, as specified in RFC-123 and RFC-37. Additionally, the DNTS-8 supports the broadcast mode of the SNTP protocol. The DNTS-8 features four adaptive 10/100M Ethernet ports, which are physically isolated from one another to ensure data security. These ports can be configured to operate within the same subnet or across different subnets, providing redundancy: a failure in one port will not affect the normal operation of the others. Each Ethernet port must be assigned an independent IP address.
